The M2, an air-cooled, belt-fed .50 calibre machine gun, is only found on mounted posts in the Far Cry 2 world. Its rate of fire is much slower than that of the M249, mounted or otherwise, but this is compensated for by the great stopping power each bullet from the M2 carries. It can also be found on the back of vehicles, and can prove lethal to the player when used by adversaries, if the gunner is not silenced quickly.
